Milwaukee native and women’s basketball star Arike Ogunbowale was arrested Thursday morning in Miami after punching a man in the face at a nightclub, according to police records obtained by ESPN. ESPN reported Ogunbowale was charged with misdemeanor battery. Ogunbowale was celebrating a championship in the Unrivaled women’s basketball league, ESPN said. “The league is aware of an incident involving Arike Ogunbowale and we are in the process of gathering additional information,” an Unrivaled spokesperson said in a statement to ESPN. Ogunbowale also plays for the Dallas Wings in the WNBA. She played high school basketball for Divine Savior Holy Angels in Milwaukee, and she played collegiately at Notre Dame.
