Mondraker recently updated its Prime eMTB platform, establishing two distinct offerings. First is the Prime, a hardtail designed to tackle singletrack and tough terrain. Second is the Prime X, which has some of the same singletrack DNA but brings it to an urban setting.
Both the Prime and Prime X share quite a few features. Both bikes feature Mondraker’s Stealth Alloy frames, updated geometry, and five frame sizes. The Prime and Prime X utilize the Bosch Performance CX Gen 5 motor, boasting 100Nm of torque. A Purion 200 display is located on the handlebars, providing accessible data and power modes.

Mondraker equipped the bikes with an 800Wh battery, which is easily removable via an aluminum battery cover. For those wanting to go even further on a single charge, a 250Wh range extender is sold separately.
The bikes feature a 120mm suspension fork and roll on 29-inch wheels, front and rear. Internal cable routing provides a clean look, and multiple bottle mounts allow you to carry less on your body.

But when we jump to the Prime X, we see a few extra features to accommodate the urban side of the platform. Mondraker adds luggage racks, fenders, and integrated front and rear lights. The Prime X is also equipped with a heavy-duty kickstand.

We also see slightly different geometry. With a focus more on the trail side of things, the Prime is slightly slacker and longer than the Prime X.Â

Can You Buy Either of the Primes?
Good question. As of right now, if you live in North America, it looks like the answer is: No. These may only be available in Europe. We’ve reached out to Mondraker asking that very question, but have yet to receive a response. We’ll keep you posted on whether and when they are available in the US.
