Sports Seriously
After smashing viewership records on the heels of Rookie of the Year winner Caitlin Clark, the Indiana Fever will have the most appearances on national television of any team during the upcoming WNBA season.
The WNBA announced its television schedule on Thursday, and Indiana will appear on national television in 41 of its 44 games. Ten appearances will be on ABC/ESPN, eight on ION and seven will be broadcast by CBS and CBS Sports Network.
The Fever getting the most appearances on national television shouldn’t surprise many. During Clark’s rookie year, all of the broadcasting partners for the WNBA had their highest-viewed WNBA games, all of which featured Indiana.
The Fever had quite a fruitful last season, both on the court and at the bank. Indiana saw a 265% increase in ticket sales (year over year), a 1,193% in jersey sales and a 225% increase in corporate sponsorships. The Fever also made the WNBA Playoffs for the first time since 2016.
When does the 2025 WNBA season start?
The WNBA season kicks off Friday, May 16, with a three-game slate of games.
All three games will be broadcast on ION.
Former Iowa Hawkeye Kate Martin will be making her debut with the Valkyries after being selected with the sixth pick in the WNBA expansion draft during the offseason.
When is the Indiana Fever’s 2025 season opener?
Clark and the Fever start their 2025 campaign on Saturday, May 17, against last season’s rebounding champion and longtime rival Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky at 1 p.m. CT on ABC.
