Muhammad Mokaev is currently looking for a last-minute replacement opponent in order to keep the date for his upcoming fight intact.
During his time in the UFC, Mokaev had an impressive undefeated streak and was climbing up the ranks, with many predicting a future shot at the championship. However, after defeating Manel Kape in July at UFC 304 in Manchester, it seemed like he was close to a title shot.
Unfortunately, Mokaev was not considered for Alexandre Pantoja’s title defense and eventually had his contract with the UFC not renewed due to off-cage issues, including an altercation with Kape during fight week.
After failing to secure a quick return to the Octagon, Mokaev signed a deal with Brave Combat Federation, with his debut scheduled for Brave CF 91 event in Bahrain this weekend.
However, just days before the event, Mokaev’s opponent Luthando Biko had to withdraw due to health reasons, leaving Mokaev without an opponent for his comeback fight.
There is uncertainty about whether Mokaev will still compete at the event, but Brave CF is working to find a replacement opponent for him.
Despite the situation, Mokaev has not addressed the news directly but has been reposting comments on social media calling for his return to the UFC after Pantoja’s recent victory.
With the current champion’s reign seemingly unchallenged, questions remain about the decision to let Mokaev go from the UFC.
