According to multiple highly respected broadcasters and publications, Sergio Perez is set to leave Red Bull Racing for the 2025 season.
In Germany, Sky, RTL, NTV, Auto Motor und Sport, and Bild, along with French broadcaster Canal Plus, all agree that Red Bull has successfully negotiated the termination of Perez’s contract for 2025.
While Yuki Tsunoda’s prospects have been improving, it is becoming increasingly clear that Liam Lawson will be Perez’s replacement.
“The team management and Red Bull shareholders reached this decision after the Abu Dhabi season finale,” reported Thomas Harloff from Auto Motor und Sport.
During an appearance on ‘Sport und Talk aus dem Hangar-7’ on Servus TV, owned by Red Bull, Max Verstappen refrained from commenting on the growing rumors about Perez’s future.
“I can’t say anything at the moment,” the quadruple world champion stated.
However, when asked separately about Perez’s performance in the 2024 season, Verstappen hinted at the situation.
“You always have to outperform your teammate,” he said. “But I’ve always had a good relationship with all my teammates.”
“The team always looks to have two quick drivers,” Verstappen added. “It’s also beneficial for the team if both drivers get along well.”
