Angel Reese made headlines when it was announced that she would be joining Unrivaled, a new three-on-three women’s professional basketball league founded by WNBA and Team USA stars Napheesa Collier and Breanna Stewart. The league’s inaugural season is set to begin in January 2025 with the primary aim of keeping WNBA stars like Reese from playing overseas during the offseason to supplement their income.
Securing Reese’s commitment is a significant achievement for Unrivaled as she brings a strong following that will attract a large viewership. Collier praised the Chicago Sky forward for her business acumen, highlighting the women’s determination to succeed in a professional sports world that often seems stacked against them.
Collier responded to a fan’s question about how they persuaded Angel Reese to join the league, stating, “Angel is a business woman & knows the power of ownership…She is part of a group that is bringing in a lot of viewership, and she has long-term potential in basketball growth. Plus, we’re in Miami!”
Angel Reese, a standout rookie in the WNBA last season, has been making waves with her exceptional performance on the court. She is now focused on establishing herself as a standout player in the league and further solidifying her place among the top players in women’s basketball.

“I never planned on going overseas…I think it’s amazing. Who wouldn’t want to play with two great players like that? Nobody wants to go overseas. A lot of us never want to have to go overseas,” said Reese in an interview with USA Today.
Napheesa Collier and Breanna Stewart are focused on attracting a wide audience to Unrivaled to make it enticing for WNBA players. For Angel Reese, the opportunity is well worth the financial gain and personal growth it offers.
“Being able to make six figures here within three months…just being able to get better…three-on-three exposes everything. So, I’m excited for it,” added Reese.
