A blockbuster MMA fight has been added to one of the most star-studded combat sports events ever assembled.
Nate Diaz will face Mike Perry in a five-round welterweight bout as part of a massive triple-headliner event scheduled for May 16, 2026 at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles.
The event, promoted by Most Valuable Promotions and streaming exclusively on Netflix, will be available globally at no additional cost to the platform’s more than 325 million subscribers.
The newly announced matchup joins two previously revealed fights:
Francis Ngannou vs Philipe Lins
Ronda Rousey vs Gina Carano
Together, the three bouts form a historic triple-headliner featuring some of the most recognizable names in combat sports.
Diaz vs Perry Set for Five-Round Welterweight Fight
The clash between Diaz and Perry will take place under the Unified Rules of MMA and will be contested over five five-minute rounds at 170 pounds.
Both fighters are known for their toughness and willingness to engage in high-pressure fights, making the matchup one of the most anticipated battles on the card.
Diaz, widely regarded as one of the sport’s most resilient competitors, returns to MMA action against Perry, a fighter known for his aggressive striking and knockout power.
Nate Diaz Returns to the Spotlight
Few fighters have left a mark on combat sports quite like Stockton’s Nate Diaz.
Diaz became a global star through his legendary rivalry with Conor McGregor, which produced some of the biggest pay-per-view events in MMA history.
He also headlined the BMF title fight against Jorge Masvidal, an event that drew unprecedented attention and even brought a sitting U.S. president to a UFC event.
Outside the cage, Diaz has expanded his presence in combat sports by launching his own promotion, Real Fight, Inc., while competing in crossover fights against fighters such as Jake Paul.
“Glad to be back n action. It’s time,” said Diaz. “Don’t forget where this all came from. I got plans on doing a lot more in the next 10 years, no matter where it is. Time to set the bar again, so get ready for a new takeover again and again until the end of time.”
Mike Perry Brings “King of Violence” Reputation Back to MMA
Perry returns to MMA after building a reputation as one of the most dangerous fighters across multiple combat sports.
During his UFC run, Perry earned 14 wins with 11 knockouts, establishing himself as one of the promotion’s most aggressive fighters.
He later found major success in bare-knuckle boxing with Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship, where he defeated several notable names including Luke Rockhold and Eddie Alvarez.
Perry was also named BKFC Male Fighter of the Year in 2023 and extended his bare-knuckle record to 5–0 before returning to MMA competition.
“The King of Violence returns to MMA to elbow his opponent in the fucking face,” said Perry. “Saturday, May 16th, on Netflix, Nate Diaz is going lights out.”
MVP Aims to Deliver Record-Breaking MMA Event
According to MVP leadership, the addition of Diaz vs Perry strengthens what is already shaping up to be one of the biggest combat sports cards of the year.
“MVP delivered the most-viewed boxing event since the advent of cable, and now we’re set to break records again with the biggest viewership in MMA history with the addition of Diaz vs Perry to Rousey vs Carano and Ngannou vs Lins,” said Nakisa Bidarian.
“Nate Diaz is the Real BMF, and Mike Perry is the King of Violence – this will be a war from the first press conference all the way to the end when one of them has their hand raised. It’s an absolutely massive night of fights in Los Angeles on Saturday, May 16th, as we continue building some of the biggest global events in combat sports. Thank you to Netflix for believing in our vision. The future of MMA is bright.”
Tickets for the event are available now via Ticketmaster, with premium hospitality and the MVP Owner’s Experience™ also returning for VIP attendees.
