Former NBA champion Kendrick Perkins was once teammates with LeBron James and believes he still has many All-NBA seasons ahead of him as he enters his 22nd year.
“Look, LeBron is going to earn several All-NBA team selections before he retires, at least a minimum of two,” Perkins stated on NBA Today. “He always puts his all into the game of basketball, as he himself has said. He mentioned, ‘If I ever feel like I’m cheating the game, I will walk away.’ So as long as he’s on the court, you can be sure that we will see the best of LeBron James.”
Another person who has a high opinion of LeBron right now is LA Lakers owner Jeanie Buss, who recently commended his contributions to the organization both on and off the court.
“He consistently delivers,” Buss expressed in the L.A. Times. “He puts in the work. He’s not just a global icon, but he is our leader. He is the captain of our team and sets the tone and pace with his hard work. Nobody can complain about putting in the work when you see someone with his track record and career longevity willing to do it. And he does. He continues to amaze me. I don’t know what more to say.
“As for my expectations for the team, we always aim for a championship at the Lakers, following the legacies of Kobe Bryant, Magic Johnson, Phil Jackson, Pat Riley, and Dr. Buss. That’s the standard we uphold. But those are just my words. What I truly want is for the games to begin so we can witness what these players will achieve. I will let them narrate their own story because they are the ones who will truly showcase their abilities.”
LeBron’s performance at the Olympics proves that The King still has more history to write.
