Khari Clark, a Denver native, graduated from Loyola Marymount (2019-23) and Stony Brook (2023-24) with a degree in biochemistry. She plans to pursue a career in professional basketball for as long as possible, but also has a solid backup plan, or rather Plan A2, with basketball being Plan A1.
In a conversation with Swish Appeal, Clark reflected on her college career, playing basketball in Mexico, and the importance of rebounding. Some highlights from the conversation include:
On how she started playing basketball:
Initially, my dad gave me a choice between volleyball and basketball, and I chose basketball. It was a simple decision that led me to pursue the sport passionately.
On staying socially active in the communities she plays in:
Although she sees herself as a lifelong learner, Clark acknowledges the importance of social engagement. She shared positive experiences from playing in Mexico, where she engaged in community outreach activities and connected with local organizations. The energy and appreciation for women’s basketball in Mexico inspired her to use her platform to inspire and connect with children in different communities. This experience fuels her passion for playing professionally and making a positive impact wherever she goes.
