The Australian Kelpies asserted their dominance in men’s international netball, sweeping all four Trans-Tasman test matches with commanding margins. They showcased the depth of their squad by rotating all 12 athletes seamlessly on court in every game, with both experienced players and promising newcomers making significant contributions. Despite their success, the Kelpies still had more than 20 turnovers per game, indicating room for improvement. Jerome Gillbard bid farewell to his international career after playing a key role in the shooting circle for several years.
New Zealand’s NetBlacks faced a challenging series with just a three-day camp before the tournament and a lineup featuring several new faces. Coach Helene Wilson struggled to find a way to counter Australia’s dominance, leading to frequent rotations and high turnover rates. However, the NetBlacks showed improvement as the series progressed, especially in feeding their shooters more effectively. Despite being in a transition phase, New Zealand possesses promising talent and aims to build on their performances against Australia.
