Netfit launch 9 Week Challenge
Netfit have announced a new NETFIT Pre-Season Challenge.
Sarah Wall writes:
“Back in June, I reached out to my former Melbourne Phoenix Strength and Conditioning Coach, Kris Hinck, to help create this program.”
“One moment with Kris stands out vividly in my memory. While I was going into the off-season of my very first year with the club, he pulled me aside and said, “I hear you are going overseas for 6 weeks, you’re kidding yourself. You have work to do.”
My heart sunk, I remember saying to him “but Kris, I’ll follow whatever program you give me—to a tee.”
I wasn’t about to miss out on the trip with my sister that we’d been saving for for years and I wasn’t missing any scheduled team sessions… but I knew he had a good point.,
So, I made a promise to myself: wherever I was in the world, I’d stick to his program like my career depended on it.
One morning in Berlin, I was walking the streets searching for a park to run my fartlek session. When I couldn’t find anything for blocks, I set up roadside on a 20m grass nature strip and got started.
It didn’t matter where I woke up—Paris, Rome, London— my mantra was always the same: stick to the plan. And honestly? It became such a positive part of my holiday. Each morning, it got me out of bed, ready to explore new places and meet locals, all while staying committed to my training.”
“It taught me a powerful lesson: there are no excuses for not sticking to a program. You just have to make it your way of life. Kris’s netball-specific, evidence-based training had me returning home after 6 weeks of travel in the fittest, strongest shape of my career.
That experience reinforced what I already believed: we can keep our bodies in peak condition, training like elite netballers, no matter where life takes us.
I truly believe that with focus and discipline, you can have it all — adventure, fitness, and success.
I’m excited to see what my body and mind can achieve again under Kris’s guidance over the next 9 weeks. I am nowhere near elite fitness standards now, but I feel ready and excited to chip away each day to see what’s possible again. I’m even more excited to share that journey with so many of you. It’s going to be fun. Sarah
