New Balance and the WNBA have signed a multiyear partnership to promote women’s sports through various marketing campaigns and content, as announced in a Tuesday morning news release. New Balance is now an official WNBA partner, joining other apparel companies like Nike, Adidas, Under Armour, and Puma. The financial terms and length of the partnership were not disclosed.
New Balance will feature Cameron Brink, drafted No. 2 by the Los Angeles Sparks this year, in broadcast content and retail campaigns. Brink, who recently signed an NIL deal with New Balance while at Stanford and is currently out with an ACL injury, was the first female athlete on New Balance’s basketball roster.
New Balance aims to be a leader in women’s sports, as the WNBA sees growth in attendance and viewership. According to Sportico, WNBA teams average $13.2 million in revenue, with an average team worth of $96 million. The league is also negotiating a new media deal and collective bargaining agreement that could increase player salaries.
