After the failure of Liquid’s previous CS2 superteam, the organization has finally confirmed who will be replacing cadiaN and skullz on the active roster. The headline announcement is jks, who will provide much need firepower from tough spots for the Team Liquid CS2 roster. Let’s dive into the news!
jks returns
After a surprising benching in November last year, jks has been absent from the competitive CS2 scene of late. However, Liquid have recognized the Aussie rifler’s talent with this latest move, a huge show of faith in a player that has been inactive for some time now. If he can put up the numbers he did at G2 with his new team, he’s sure to be a very solid addition to the Team Liquid CS2 roster.
He is not the only addition, either. Liquid have placed their faith on the AWP in young talent ultimate. “Who is ultimate?” you may be asking. It’s a fair question. The Polish AWPer has been farming Tier 2 teams over the last 12 months, and most recently impressed with Illuminar. Whether he can make the step up is a question only he can answer via his performances, and there’s no question about how big of a risk Team Liquid’s CS2 division are taking here.
Joining the duo is coach mithR, most notable for his time on Apeks. He should be a steady helping hand on the roster, especially as Twistzz makes the transition to the IGL role. Crucially, the composition of the Team Liquid CS2 roster means that when the Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024 rolls around, they’re able to choose between the European and Americas RMRs, which should, in theory, make it much easier to qualify. As the last few months has shown, it’s never quite that simple with Team Liquid CS2.
