The LG Twins of the Korea Baseball Organization have officially signed Elieser Hernández, a former right-hander for the Los Angeles Dodgers, as confirmed by Dan Kurtz of MyKBO.net.
Hernández will be earning an annual salary of $440K for the remainder of the season.
Originally from the Miami Marlins, the 29-year-old Hernández showed promise as a big-league starter but encountered challenges that hindered his progress. He made 17 starts for the Marlins between 2020 and 2021, pitching 77.1 innings with a 3.84 earned run average.
In 2022, Hernández transitioned to the Marlins’ bullpen and ended the season with a 6.35 ERA before being traded to the New York Mets. Unfortunately, a shoulder strain caused him to miss the entire 2023 season, with only 9.1 innings pitched for the Mets’ Triple-A team during rehab.
In 2024, splitting time between the Dodgers and Milwaukee Brewers, Hernández struggled with a 6.32 ERA in 15.2 major league innings and a 2.83 ERA in 28.2 Triple-A innings. After being designated for assignment by the Brewers, he opted out of his contract to pursue opportunities overseas and regain his form.
