Jalen Hurts’ relationship with A.J. Brown was a hot topic last week due to unexpected comments from Brandon Graham.
However, the controversy did not affect Hurts and Brown’s success working together. In fact, it seemed to bring the team closer as they performed well in a big win over the Pittsburgh Steelers.
NFL insider Jay Glazer shed more light on this situation during a recent appearance on The NFL On Fox Podcast:
“The drama outside the building was bigger than inside. After Brandon Graham’s comments, Jalen and A.J. reassured everyone in a team meeting that they were fine. Brandon then apologized for his distraction. This incident ended up galvanizing the team and making them stronger.”
Glazer also mentioned that during the bye week, Brandon Graham and another player visited Jalen’s house to encourage him to connect more with his teammates.
The part about connecting with head coach Sirianni during the bye was already known, but the efforts by Graham and the other player were new information that seemed to have a positive impact.
Hurts has been praised for his leadership evolution since last season, with teammates noticing his increased presence and effort in bonding with the team both on and off the field.
While Hurts’ on-field performance is crucial, positive reports about his off-field leadership are also encouraging to see.
