On September 29, Chicago Sky superstar Angel Reese was seen at the Baltimore Ravens’ NFL home game against the Buffalo Bills and had a wholesome interaction with one of the Ravens’ top players.
Reigning NFL MVP and Ravens franchise quarterback Lamar Jackson had an outstanding performance that day, throwing for 156 yards and 2 touchdowns while also adding 54 rushing yards and 1 rushing touchdown in a 35-10 victory for Baltimore.
It’s possible that Reese (a Maryland native and apparent Ravens fan) was inspired by Jackson’s stellar performance. However, based on his interview with ESSENCE released on December 25, it could have been Jackson who found inspiration from Reese that day.
During the ESSENCE interview with host Sharí Nycole, Jackson expressed his excitement for women’s sports, particularly mentioning basketball and the WNBA.
He went on to discuss his newfound appreciation for women’s basketball and how players like Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark are inspiring a new generation of female athletes to pursue sports.
Jackson emphasized his admiration for the rise of women’s sports and how it serves as a source of inspiration for him.
It’s heartwarming to see a prominent football star like Jackson acknowledge and appreciate the talent and impact of Reese, Clark, and the WNBA, especially in a year that has been significant for women’s basketball as a whole.
