NFL Picks Against the Spread: NFC and AFC Championship Games

Before the Conference Championship Round of the 2025 NFL playoffs kicks off, let’s have some fun by taking a look at the lines for this weekend’s postseason games.

My overall record is 137-142-3, which is well behind the collective BGN community at 154-125-3. Feel free to fade my advice and lean into the community’s selections instead.

Here are suggestions when trying to beat the odds.

NFC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME

WASHINGTON COMMANDERS at PHILADELPHIA EAGLES (-6.5): Let’s be clear: the Eagles are winning this game. It just doesn’t feel like their story ends with a home loss in the NFCCG. Jayden Daniels is excellent … but so is Vic Fangio. And the veteran defensive coordinator might have some tricks up his sleeve that the rookie quarterback isn’t ready for. But it’s not even just the coaching that makes the Eagles’ defense great. Jalen Carter is looking like an elite difference-maker who should be able to wreck a game with the Commanders missing Sam Cosmi, their best offensive lineman. Speaking of unstoppable players, Saquon Barkley should be able to get his against a very gettable Washington defense. The Commanders will put up a good fight in a game that goes to overtime. But the Eagles will emerge victorious with a walk-off touchdown that leaves them half a point shy of covering the spread. PICK: Commanders +6.5

AFC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME

BUFFALO BILLS at KANSAS CITY CHIEFS (-1.5): Josh Allen is 4-1 against Patrick Mahomes in the regular season. Josh Allen is 0-3 against Patrick Mahomes in the playoffs. The Chiefs aren’t losing this game. They’ve been on a mission to win a third straight Super Bowl ever since they beat the San Francisco 49ers last year. If you pick the Chiefs to win and they don’t, you can forgive yourself for expecting them to win. You cannot forgive yourself for doubting KC in this spot. PICK: Chiefs -1.5
