TEMPE, Ariz. – Graduating senior Nibi Ghosh was tabbed the ITA Midwest Region Arthur Ashe Jr. Leadership and Sportsmanship Award winner, the organization announced. Ghosh is the sixth award recipient in program history and first since 2017.
Ghosh, a native of Kendall Park, New Jersey, posted a dominant senior season. She recorded a 21-5 singles record and 19-11 doubles record during the fall and spring seasons combined. During the spring, she was 12-1 (.923) at singles, the fourth-best winning percentage in Irish history en route to her third-straight second round appearance in the NCAA tournament.
The Arthur Ashe Leadership and Sportsmanship Award is presented to a student-athlete at the Division I, II and III and NAIA and JUCO levels who exhibit outstanding sportsmanship and leadership, as well as scholastic, extracurricular and tennis achievements in ways of tennis icon and humanitarian Arthur Ashe Jr.
