The 2025 WNBA Draft is finally here, and the stars have arrived at the Orange Carpet in New York City.
After leading the UConn Huskies to their 12th title, Paige Bueckers is widely expected to go No. 1 overall in Monday’s draft, joining WNBA All-Star MVP Arike Ogunbowale on the Dallas Wings.

Joining Bueckers in New York were her family, teammates, coaching staff and Seattle Storm guard Nika Muhl, Bueckers former college teammate.
“I mean, it just feels like a full circle moment,” Muhl said on the Orange Carpet. “Even if (Bueckers) wasn’t there last year, I would still be here supporting her. That’s my sister, and it’s so cool to see her dreams come true… National championship and now WNBA Draft just a week later.”
To watch her “sister” get drafted, Muhl donned a charcoal gray oversized blazer with a chain featuring keys, keychains and padlocks around her shoulder. She tops it off with black sunglasses.
Although her comments were heartfelt, WNBA fans took notice of Muhl’s outfit for Bueckers’ big night, taking to social media to leave their thoughts.

“The key sash is lowkey fire… something different,” one fan said.
“Her fashion sense is iconic,” added another.
“Nika with the Storm’s keys to the draft,” wrote a third.
“The GOAT,” commented a fourth.
“Fashion icon,” added a fifth on Instagram.
“Ball Nika….Ball out💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻,” replied a sixth on Instagram.

With Bueckers in attendance as well, Muhl was selected with the No. 14 pick in the second round of the 2024 WNBA Draft. Although she didn’t see much playing time (3.6 minutes/game), Muhl still became a fan favorite.
