WALLA WALLA, Wash. – For the second time in three seasons, the No. 5 Whitman College women’s basketball team will serve as the host for the Northwerst Conference Women’s Basketball Tournament. All games will take place at the Sherwood Athletic Center with two semifinals on Friday, Feb. 28 (6 & 8 p.m.) and the championship game on Saturday, March 1 (6:00 p.m.)
The Blues won the NWC regular season outright with two weeks to play in the season, beating George Fox to nail down the No. 1 seed and host rights to the tournament. Whitman, ranked fifth in the nation and first in the west region, ran the conference table (16-0) for only the second time in program history and first since 2013-14, the season they advanced to the NCAA national title game. They will also be seeking their fourth NWC Tournament title and second in three seasons.
Leading the way for the Blues is two-time All-American and two-time NWC Player of the Year Korin Baker. She also leads the nation with a .671 field goal percentage.
