The final major tennis tournament of the year is set to start on Saturday in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia as the 2024 WTA Finals welcome the top-ranked athletes in the sport.
The event will feature the top eight singles players and doubles teams, including Grand Slam winners and Olympic medalists, competing for the Billie Jean King and Martina Navratilova trophies before the season break.
A record prize pool of $15.25 million is up for grabs, with the singles winner potentially earning $5.155 million and the top doubles team taking home $1.125 million should they win every match in the tournament.
Exciting Matches Ahead
Players in both singles and doubles categories will be split into groups of four, playing three matches each in the first six days. The top two in each group will advance to the semifinals on November 8th, with the finals set for November 9th.
In the singles competition, the Purple Group includes Aryna Sabalenka, Jasmine Paolini, Elena Rybakina, and Qinwen Zheng, while the Orange Group features Iga Świątek, Coco Gauff, Jessica Pegula, and Barbora Krejčíková.
A quarter of the top eight athletes represent the USA in both singles and doubles, with strong American presence on the courts.

A potential match between Aryna Sabalenka and defending champion Iga Świątek is highly anticipated, with the top players yet to face off in 2024.
