ESPN is officially reporting that a deal has been reached for Oleksandr Usyk to rematch Daniel Dubois on July 19 at Wembley Stadium. With Dubois currently holding the IBF heavyweight title and Usyk holding the remainder, not only will this fight give Dubois the opportunity to avenge 2023 stoppage loss to Usyk, but it will also give him a chance to go undisputed at heavyweight.
Since Dubois got stopped by Usyk a couple of years ago he’s gone on three fight run where he’s beaten Jarrell Miller, Filip Hrgovic, and most notably a stoppage win over Anthony Joshua last fall.
Usyk, on the other hand, has already once gone undisputed at heavyweight and now looks double up on that accolade by beating Dubois in this rematch. Usyk has scored two wins over Tyson Fury since the last time he fought Dubois.
With Usyk now 38 years old he’ll still likely be favored to win this fight once again, but with Dubois in his physical prime at 27 and his confidence being at an all-time high, he can’t be completely counted out.
