Max Verstappen is unfazed by the outcry following the Austrian clash, stating that he doesn’t care about it and is only concerned about his relationship with Lando Norris.
Although Norris has already spoken with Verstappen twice since the incident, and no longer expects an apology, Verstappen emphasizes that he is not bothered by the media frenzy and is focused on maintaining a good relationship with the McLaren driver.
When asked about the criticism and claims of leniency towards him, Verstappen replied, “I don’t give a shit about that! I go home, live my life, and the only thing I care about is my relationship with Lando.”
Verstappen confirmed that they have discussed the incident and agreed that they both enjoy racing hard. Despite the consequences of the incident, they believe that their battles are good for Formula 1 and plan to continue racing each other competitively.
Clarifying that their disagreements are minor and that mutual trust exists between them during races, Verstappen expressed that their clashes were not overly aggressive. He admitted to pushing the limits on the track, comparing it to pushing the boundaries in life to succeed.
Regarding their radio communications during the race, where he accused Norris of aggressive driving, Verstappen acknowledged that drivers and their teams always advocate for their own benefit.
Looking ahead, Verstappen and Norris plan to continue racing each other fiercely as they enjoy the competition and believe it is beneficial for Formula 1.
