Although the Unrivaled League is new, the excitement of rivals becoming teammates and teammates turning into rivals in just two weeks is even cooler. The reunions are the standout story, led by the dynamic duo of Sabrina Ionescu and Satou Sabally from the Oregon Ducks.
From 2017 to 2020, Ionescu and Sabally were a dominant force in college basketball. Their chemistry on the court was undeniable, with Sabrina’s leadership complementing Satou’s scoring abilities perfectly. Unfortunately, their senior season was cut short due to the pandemic.
After being drafted in the 2020 WNBA Draft, Ionescu went to the New York Liberty and Sabally to the Dallas Wings. Their connection from college remains strong, and now they are both playing for Phantom BC in Unrivaled’s inaugural season.
