Connor Norby, a top prospect, was traded away to make room for Holliday to return to the Orioles infield.
The 2022 first overall pick, Holliday, has performed well in the minor leagues but struggled in his initial MLB appearances with Baltimore.
Now, with the Orioles in contention for the pennant, Holliday will rejoin the team’s strong lineup including Gunnar Henderson and Adley Rutschman.
Baltimore is aiming for their second consecutive AL East title as they seek to return to the World Series for the first time since 1983.
