DALLAS — The Dallas Wings might just have their next star player.
The Wings won the lottery and hold the No. 1 overall pick in the WNBA Draft. It has been widely expected that UConn guard Paige Bueckers would be the top pick if she declared for the draft. Well, Bueckers is reportedly going to be available for Dallas to pick.
ESPN reporter Rebecca Lobo posted to X on Friday that Buckers confirmed to the ESPN crew she would enter the 2025 WNBA Draft. There was some speculation that Bueckers would not declare and instead play in Unrivaled, a 3-on-3 basketball league started by fellow UConn alum Breanna Stewart, and then declare for the WNBA in 2026, Lobo reported.
Bueckers will lead UConn in the Sweet Sixteen on Saturday against No. 3 seed Oklahoma.
