Paige Bueckers walked into the WNBA and lived up to the hype in her rookie year. While the Dallas Wings couldn’t win too many games, Bueckers clearly showed what the hype was all about. Paige broke multiple records, including the highest single-game scoring performance ever by a rookie with 44 points against the LA Sparks.
It seems that this isn’t her only plan for Los Angeles; the big screen is calling to Bueckers. Now that she has a national profile, Bueckers is reportedly considering a career in acting, like many basketball players have. One latest report suggests that the 24-year-old is already set to star in an upcoming sports movie.

“Fresh off her record-breaking rookie year in the WNBA, Paige Bueckers is now looking to make her leap onto the big screen, as sources tell Deadline that she is attached to star in the sports pic Jess & Pearl,” reads a report by Deadline. The article goes on to explain the premise of the film, which explains why Bueckers is such a good fit.
“Set in the world of women’s basketball, the film follows two basketball phenoms who forge an extraordinary bond as teammates until fame, competition, and the ruthless business of college athletics threaten to turn their friendship into an epic rivalry.”
WNBA stars have been branching out a fair bit lately. Angel Reese recently walked the runway at a Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. Sophie Cunningham has expressed a desire to do the same. Many are in the media with their own podcasts. This is a new avenue Bueckers is exploring, and one that could take her personal brand to the next level.
