NEW CASTLE – Butler women’s basketball head coach Austin Parkinson was selected for the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame’s 2025 Silver Anniversary Team. He was chosen by the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame Board of Directors along with seventeen other men based on their exceptional performances as senior basketball players 25 years ago.
Parkinson averaged 20.4 points, 4.9 rebounds, 8.5 assists, and 3.6 steals during his senior year at Northwestern, leading the team to a 16-6 record. Throughout his four seasons, he accumulated 1,667 points (17.3), 431 rebounds (4.6), a school-record 678 assists (7.2), and a school-record 371 steals (3.9) as the Tigers achieved a 77-17 record, one Mid-Indiana Conference championship, two sectional crowns, one regional title, and three Howard County Tournament trophies.
In 2000, Parkinson was named an Indiana All-Star and received several awards for his outstanding performance on the court. He went on to play for Purdue, where he continued to excel as a guard, earning various accolades and helping the team achieve significant victories.
The Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame’s 2025 Silver Anniversary Team members will be honored at the 63rd Men’s Awards Banquet on Wednesday, March 19, 2025. The event will include a midday reception at the Hall of Fame Museum in New Castle, followed by an evening banquet at the Primo Banquet Hall in Indianapolis.
The team includes former Indiana All-Stars and other top high school players from the class of 2000, recognizing their continued contributions to the sport.
