New Orleans Pelicans forward Zion Williamson has entered the conditioning phase of his rehab for a left hamstring strain and is expected to participate in full practice next week, as announced by the team on Tuesday.
New Orleans Pelicans forward Zion Williamson has been out with a left hamstring strain since November 6
Williamson has been sidelined since November 6 due to the injury and has only played in six games this season, averaging 22.7 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 5.3 assists. The Pelicans consider him week-to-week.
Although originally set to return in late December, there are indications that Williamson’s absence may extend beyond that time frame as he is working on rehabilitating a body part that has experienced multiple strains in recent years.

In the six games he has played this season, Williamson has showcased impressive stats, averaging 22.7 points, 8.0 rebounds, 5.3 assists, 1.2 blocks, and 31 minutes per game with decent shooting percentages.
Last season, Williamson had a healthy run, playing in a career-high 70 games and maintaining solid averages throughout.
New Orleans’ starting lineup has faced injury woes this season
All members of the Pelicans’ projected starting five have dealt with injuries this season. Dejounte Murray, acquired in a trade, missed 17 games due to a hand fracture.
Despite his injury setback, Murray made a positive impact in his Pelicans debut, joining a small group of players in team history with his performance. Brandon Ingram and Jose Alvarado are also working on their rehab processes following injuries.
Trey Murphy III is the latest player to suffer an injury, a left ankle sprain, and is currently posting career-best numbers in his playing time this season.
The Pelicans (5-25) will face the Houston Rockets (20-9) in their upcoming game on Thursday.
