The second season of Wallachia was an exciting experience from start to finish. Despite being on a patch similar to TI, the tournament showcased a higher diversity of strategies and hero picks. Let’s take a quick look back at this historic event and highlight some of the most thrilling moments.
One of the standout moments of the tournament was South America’s first-ever LAN victory. The region has been steadily growing in competitiveness in Dota and this achievement was a significant milestone this year.
Although some notable teams like Team Liquid, Team Spirit, Gaimin Gladiators, and Xtreme Gaming were absent, the tournament was still filled with intense competition. Heroic’s victory over Team Falcons in a best-of-five series was a testament to their skill and dedication.
Additionally, three South American teams made it to the top 8 of the tournament, with Beastcoast coming close to reaching the top 4. The region’s unique approach to the game has made them a joy to watch and we look forward to seeing their continued success in future tournaments.
ɹǝʞɹɐd⚔️ emerged as a tournament MVP for his exceptional performance. His carry role redefined the meta and played a crucial role in nearly every game, reminiscent of K1’s impact in the past. This highlighted the importance of hard-carrying in Dota and the skill required to excel in this role.
Wallachia also showcased an evolving meta, with diverse hero picks and strategic plays taking center stage. While there were still some overlooked heroes, the emphasis on team preferences and innovative strategies made the tournament refreshing and exciting.
