Manchester United v Tottenham preview

Michael Carrick’s in–form United host Tottenham as they look to keep up a push for a top-four finish on Saturday.

Carrick has worked wonders since taking interim charge with United looking much more like their old selves, while Spurs start the weekend down in 14th place with no wins in their last six in the league.

Tottenham are unbeaten in their last eight meetings with Manchester United in all competitions though, and if they can find the form they have consistently shown in the Champions League on Saturday then have every chance of extending that record.

For Carrick and United, it’s a fourth win in a row on the agenda. The Red Devils last won four in a row in February 2024 under Erik ten Hag, while they last had a longer run without defeat in February 2022 (eight under Ralf Rangnick).

Man United v Tottenham team news

United are without defenders Matthijs de Ligt and Patrick Dorgu, while Mason Mount is a perrenial doubt and has a knock from training.

Benjamin Sesko is hoping to start after his dramatic late winner against Fulham.

Spurs are still without a host of attackers but have been boosted by the return to form of Dominic Solanke in recent weeks.

Key defender Micky van de Ven could also return.

Manchester United v Spurs predicted line ups

Manchester United starting XI: Lammens; Dalot, Maguire, Martinez, Shaw; Casemiro, Mainoo; Diallo, Fernandes, Cunha; Mbeumo

Tottenham starting XI: Vicario; Spence, Romero, Van de Ven, Udogie; Bissouma, Gallagher; Odobert, Simons, Kolo Muani; Solanke

How to watch Man United v Spurs: TV channel, online live streams

This match starts at 12:30 GMT (07:30 ET / 04:30 PT) on Saturday. Live TV coverage in the UK is on TNT Sports 1, TNT Sports Ultimate and the Discovery Plus app.

TNT Sports costs £29.99 a month through Discovery Plus, which includes Eurosport and entertainment and is available on a vast range of devices including smart TVs and gaming consoles.

Manchester United v Tottenham stats

United are winless in their last six league games against Tottenham (D3 L3), which is their joint-longest ever run without a win against them (also 6, between 1914 and 1921)

They are unbeaten in all nine of their Premier League games this season when they have less possession than their opponents (W7 D2), winning all seven when having less than 45%

Four of their 15 league games when having over 50% of the ball have resulted in victory (D6 L5)

A seven-game unbeaten Premier League run (W4 D3) includes three wins since Carrick returned as manager. The Red Devils last won four in a row in February 2024 under Erik ten Hag and last had a longer run without defeat in February 2022 (8 under Ralf Rangnick)

Bruno Fernandes has more assists than any other Premier League player this season, with his 12 also his joint-best tally in a single campaign (level with 2020/21)

Matheus Cunha has been involved in four goals in his last five Premier League games (3 goals, 1 assist), which is as many as in his first 16 appearances for Manchester United (3 goals, 1 assist)

The last Manchester United player to provide more was Antonio Valencia in 2011/12 (13)

Only bottom-two sides Burnley (23) and Wolves (21) have conceded more first-half goals than Tottenham (18) in the Premier League this season

Spurs are winless in all 10 of their league games when behind at the break this term (D3 L7) and are unbeaten in all six when leading at half-time (W5 D1)

Dominic Solanke – who scored twice against Man City last time out – has five goals in his last five appearances against Manchester United in all competitions

The former England forward is averaging a goal every 88 minutes in all competitions this season, which is the best rate of any Spurs player

An eight-game unbeaten run against United in all competitions (W5 D3) is their longest-ever run without defeat against them

In the 21st century, only Chelsea have gone longer against the Red Devils (12, between 2012 and 2017)

Tottenham are winless in their last six Premier League games (D4 L2), which is their longest run since their last seven in 2024/25

Five of Spurs’ seven league wins this season have come away from home and they won this exact fixture 3-0 last season
