ABILENE, Texas – The 2026 NCAA Division III Women’s Basketball Tournament is just days from getting underway as the Whitman College women’s basketball team prepares for its opening round opponent Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges. The two will square off on Friday, March 6 at 5:30 p.m. Central Time (3:30 p.m. Pacific Time).
Hardin-Simmons University serves as the host for the four-team opening round pod. The Cowgirls will host Austin College in the second match of the evening.
The Blues, armed with only underclassmen, needed an automatic qualifier to secure a tournament bid, and did just that by winning the Northwest Conference Tournament on the road for the first time since 2017.
The Blues feature a pair of NWC selections in Holly Morgan (first team) and Emma Lena Baker (second team)
