MENOMONIE, Wis. – The 2025 NCAA Division III Women’s Basketball Tournament is just days from getting underway as the Whitman College women’s basketball team prepares for its opening round opponent the University of Wisconsin-Superior. The two will square off on Friday, March 7 at 4:45 p.m. Central Time (2:45 p.m. Pacific Time).
The University of Wisconsin-Stout serves as the host for the four-team opening round pod. The Blue Devils will take on Ripon College in the second match of the evening.
With a 26-1 record and ranked fifth nationally and first in the west region, not receiving a selection by the NCAA to host rounds one and two was certainly a disappointment for the Blues, but a veteran team with a veteran coach quickly turned its sights to the task at hand.
The Blues are armed with three-time Northwest Conference Player of the Year and All-American Korin Baker, along with first-team all-conference selection Carly Martin and NWC Defensive Player of the Year Natalie Lundberg.
UW Superior (17-10) is dancing for the first time since 2018. Out of the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC), the Yellow Jackets are riding a four-game winning streak after winning the UMAC Tournament Title.
