The first games of the NFL’s wild-card weekend haven’t even kicked off yet, but mock draft season never ends.
Whether it’s before the season starts or a few days before the playoffs, we’ve been getting 2025 NFL mock drafts at a steady clip for much of the 2024 season.
It’s no surprise, then, that CBS Sports has released a new mock draft. The draft order just got solidified and the Tennessee Titans will be first on the clock.
Despite the Titans taking Will Levis out of Kentucky in the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft, Ryan Wilson of CBS Sports predicts Tennessee will go back to the quarterback well and this time try a quarterback from the ACC.
Cam Ward will be the No. 1 overall pick in 2025, according to Wilson’s mock.
“Cam Ward would’ve likely been no better than QB5 in last year’s draft class, but he’s QB1 in 2024. Teams had a late Day 2/Day 3 grade on him over the summer, but he’s made big strides this season; he’s playing more from the pocket, he’s getting the ball out on time, and he’s doing a better job of getting through his reads. We know about the athleticism and arm strength, but he’s gotten better each year he’s been in college, too,” Wilson wrote.
Some may think Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders is the top quarterback in the draft and he’ll certainly get his looks, especially if his father Deion Sanders gets involved. There’s absolutely a world in which Shedeur Sanders goes No. 1 overall to the Titans, but in this mock, Wilson predicts quarterbacks going No. 1 and No. 2 with Shedeur Sanders going to the Cleveland Browns.
That would be an exciting, albeit interesting, fit for a Cleveland franchise that has long awaited a “savior” at quarterback.
