Redditch Borough and Thornaby go top of Regional League tables

Redditch Borough and Thornaby went top, Loughborough Foxes Vixens and Wythenshawe won top-two clashes, Newcastle Town caused shock, Hull United back in the black.

EASTERN – Harpenden Town open up double-figure lead

Premier – St Albans City put five past Bowers & Pitsea to climb two places to fifth, Wroxham also went up a couple of positions to eighth after Jennifer Drummie got the only goal in front of a crowd of 120 at Dussindale & Hellesdon Rovers.

1 North – Harpenden Town beat Mulbarton Wanderers 2-0 to open up an 11-point lead at the top, although they have played at least three games more than any of their title rivals.

EAST MIDLANDS – Millers maintain title hopes

Premier – Rotherham United moved up to second with a 5-1 victory over Anstey Nomads with five different scorers but need to win all five remaining games and hope both Chesterfield Ladies and Sheffield FC drop points. Stamford’s Emma Pollard hit a hat-trick in their 6-2 win at Nottingham Trent University.

1 Central – Loughborough Foxes Vixens ran out 8-1 winners over Asfordby Amateurs in the top-of-the-table clash, Isabel Sheridan notching a treble as the leaders went five points clear but from two games more.

1 North – Grimsby Town’s Bethany Wharton scored three times in a 5-2 victory at Buxton, to narrow the gap on leaders Gainsborough Trinity.

LONDON & SOUTH EAST – Dorking dent Dartford’s advantage

Premier – Dorking Wanderers defeated Sport London E Benfica 2-0 to reduce Dartford’s lead at the top, Millwall Lionesses are level on points with barking in fifth following a 3-1 win at Ashford United.

1 North – Third-placed Denham United sent AFC Whyteleafe to a 6-3 defeat, Actonians Reserves rose into the top half with a 2-0 result against Richmond Park.

1 South – Saltdean United Development made it 11 wins from 12 with a 5-0 defeat of Soccer Elite Football Academy, Bognor Regis Town stayed five points off the leaders with two games in hand after beating Hastings United 4-1. Three Bridges remained two points adrift of Bexhill United at the bottom after the pair drew 1-1.

NORTH EAST – Thornaby go top, Hull Utd back up to zero

Premier – Hull United drew the basement battle with York Railway Institute 1-1, no longer in debit now they have wiped out a six-point deduction.

1 North – Thornaby moved into pole position with a 4-1 victory at Chester le Street United, where Robyn Foster and Robyn Ingram struck twice each, Norton & Stockton Ancients Reserves slipped to second when held 1-1 at home by Hartlepool United, which was also the scoreline between Wallsend BC Reserves and Consett.

1 South – York City Development defeated Lower Hopton 4-2, helped by a Ruby Wyatt double.

NORTH WEST – Wythenshawe win clash of top two

Premier – Wythenshawe defeated Darwen 2-0 to strengthen their title claim, now three points clear of their visitors with as many games in hand. West Didsbury & Chorlton ran out 5-1 winners over fourth-placed Tranmere Rovers, Fleetwood Town Wrens are up two to seventh after a 2-1 result at FC United of Manchester, returning home this Thursday to host Mancunian Unity at Poolfoot Farm.

1 North –  Atherton Laburnum Rovers hit Morecambe 6-2 to climb into the top half, Radcliffe just got the better of relegation-threatened Blackpool in a seven-goal thriller, Haslingden won 2-1 at Fleetwood Town Wrens Reserves to leapfrog them into eighth place.

1 South –  FC St. Helens beat Wigan Athletic 2-1 with substitute Ashley Beard netting the decider, as they cut Poulton Vics lead to five points with one game still in hand. Runcorn Linnets fought back to edged MSB Woolton 3-2 and rise to fifth spot, Macclesfield FC hit Ellesmere Port Town for six and Warrington Town upped their survival hopes when beating basement side Litherland REMYCA 1-0.

SOUTHERN – Potter moulds Wycombe win

Premier – Wycombe Wanderers went second when Kayla Potter scored four of their six goals at Badshot Lea, Woodley United are fourth after seeing off Selsey 3-0.

1 North – Penn & Tylers Green are up to fifth after defeating second-placed Ascot United Reserves with a Megan Brockwell goal. Wycombe Wanderers U-23s’ Shannon Read and Elena Mitchell each bagged a brace in the 5-2 win at Chesham United Development, Slough Town took the points 2-0 at Caversham United.

1 South – AFC Stoneham stayed two points clear of Havant & Waterlooville in the title race but having played a game more, after they won 4-1 at QK Southampton and the Hawks beat Bournemouth Sports Reserves 6-1 away. Woking won by the odd goal in seven as the side in fourth faced fifth-placed Wimborne Town.

SOUTH WEST – Promotion-chasing Sherborne win away

Premier – Sherborne Town’s 2-1 win at Poole Town put them third, Ilminster Town matched that result at AFC St Austell, while AEK Boco beat Bishops Lydeard 4-1.

1 North – Corsham Town moved closer to the top half of the table when defeating third-placed Cirencester Town 4-1.

WEST MIDLANDS – Stunning first win for Newcastle Town

Premier – Lye Town lead the table by four points after a narrow 3-2 victory at Leek Town, Kidderminster Harriers going second with five different scorers in their 5-0 result at Alvechurch.

1 North – Newcastle Town got off the bottom with their first win of the season, Julia Lucero at the double in an excellent 3-0 result over Eccleshall, who missed a chance to go top. Lichfield City leapt three places to third with a 2-0 result over Rugby Town.

1 South – Redditch Borough replaced Crusaders in first place after returning from Worcester City Reserves 4-2 victors.

Many other regional league fixtures were postponed due to County Cup ties.
