WNBA star Angel Reese — the face of Reebok Basketball since the footwear company’s re-emergence in the sport nearly two years ago — now has her own signature shoe.

On Wednesday, the Boston-based brand officially unveiled the Reebok Angel Reese 1, making the Chicago Sky forward the fifth active player in the WNBA lacing up her own signature model, joining Breanna Stewart (Puma), Sabrina Ionescu (Nike), A’ja Wilson (Nike) and Jacy Sheldon (HOLO Footwear).

Reese is also only the second player in WNBA history to receive a signature shoe from Reebok, following women’s basketball Hall of Famer Rebecca Lobo, who wore her debut model during the league’s inaugural 1997 season.

The Reebok Angel Reese 1 will launch in the iridescent “Diamond Dust” colorway.

The Angel Reese 1 — unveiled in its lead “Diamond Dust” colorway — arrives just in time for the 23-year-old star to make her second WNBA All-Star appearance during next week’s game in Indianapolis.

“Just a kid from Baltimore, turning dreams into reality and hoping I can inspire young women and men everywhere to do the same,” wrote Reese on X. “The most brilliant diamonds take pressure, polish, and time. Reebok is back — and the diamonds are shining brighter than ever.”

Also on Wednesday, Reese was unveiled as the cover athlete for the WNBA edition of the upcoming NBA 2K26 video game. The illustrated cover fittingly features Reese’s digital avatar laced in the Reebok Angel 1.

“Of course we do everything BIG,” wrote Reese on X. “Why not debut my signature shoe on the cover of NBA2K?!?!”

Reese notably becomes the 11th player in Reebok’s nearly 70-year history to receive a signature basketball shoe. The list begins with the brand’s first signature headliner in basketball, Shaquille O’Neal, who has served as president of Reebok Basketball since October 2023.

Signature basketball shoe headliners in Reebok history:

Shaquille O’Neal (1993-1998)

Shawn Kemp (1994-1998)

Clyde Drexler (1996)

Glenn Robinson (1996)

Allen Iverson (1997-present)

Rebecca Lobo (1997-1998)

Saudia Roundtree (1997-1998)

Steve Francis (2001-2002)

Yao Ming (2004)

John Wall (2010-2012)

The first athlete O’Neal signed was Reese, who joined the brand on an NIL deal ahead of her senior season at Louisiana State University. The partnership carried over into Reese’s rookie season in the WNBA, leading her to sign a multi-year contract extension with Reebok in October 2024, specifically stipulating she would receive a signature shoe.

The Reebok Angel Reese 1 is the WNBA All-Star’s first signature sneaker after signing with the brand in 2023.

Reebok

For Reebok, Reese represented a perfect fit as a signature shoe headliner.

“If you think about when we’ve really been successful, it’s been having these bigger-than-life personalities that are embracing on- and off-the-court culture,” Reebok CEO Todd Krinsky told The Athletic in June. “Shaq was like that. He was larger than life. He wasn’t just a center. He transformed the game. And he had this bigger-than-life personality. Allen Iverson, we signed him in ’96. Obviously, he changed the way players look and dress. He changed the culture of the game. And I think that’s what Angel is.”

Less than two years after Reese took a chance on the resurgent Reebok, her first signature shoe is here.

“A true design collaboration between Reese and Reebok, the Angel Reese 1 is a signature experience around who she is and how she moves, blending performance, cultural edge, and personal narrative,” reads Reebok’s press release. “Reese debuts the Angel Reese 1 in the ‘Diamond Dust’ colorway, featuring vivid iridescent color hues that champion both the grit and glam Reese brings to the game. Built to shine both on the court and evolve for the streets, like Reese who embodies both the strength and style of the modern athlete.”
