Daniel Gafford set to miss time after rolling ankle.
Dallas Mavericks center Daniel Gafford suffered a sprained ankle on the first day of training camp, coach Jason Kidd told the media Wednesday.
Gafford will be sidelined for two to three weeks, according to Kidd. The Mavericks open their season vs. the Spurs on Oct. 22 (9:30 ET, ESPN).Â

Gafford, who arrived in Dallas ahead of the 2023 trade deadline, has carved out a significant role for himself. Last season, he averaged 12.3 PPG, 6.8 RPG and 1.8 BPG.Â
He recently signed a three-year, $54 million contract extension this summer.
