Multiple media outlets are reporting Indiana coach Mike Woodson is considering retirement and is expected to step away at the end of the 2024-25 season.
According to Jeff Goodman of Field of 68, Woodson is “contemplating stepping down and retiring.” According to Goodman, “if Woodson does retire, the current plan would be for him to finish out the season.”
ESPN.com is also reporting Woodson is not expected to return to Bloomington next season. According to the ESPN report, Woodson “is expected to coach the rest of the year, but he and the Hoosiers are in discussions about the coach’s wishes to step away after this season. The details of the exit are being discussed.”
Indiana has not made any public comment on either report.
The Hoosiers are set to host Michigan on Saturday at 1 p.m. ET at Assembly Hall. Indiana is 14-9 overall, 5-7 in the Big Ten and has lost six of its last seven games.
