Alan Jouban Says Alex Pereira Has Already Earned UFC Hall of Fame Status
During an interview on SiriusXM’s “MMA Today,” Alan Jouban was questioned about whether Alex Pereira’s impressive run in the UFC has positioned him for Hall of Fame induction. Jouban believes that Pereira has already solidified his place in the history books in a remarkably short period of time (via MMAJunkie).
“If he were to retire tomorrow, no one in the history of the UFC has achieved what he has in such a brief span,” Jouban expressed on MMA on SiriusXM. “When you consider his accomplishments, it’s truly unprecedented, so I would have to say yes.”
Jouban also commended Pereira for consistently stepping up as the UFC’s go-to fighter whenever a match was needed.
“Not only does he have this aura and a widespread fan base of all ages, carrying the UFC on his shoulders, but one thing that sets him apart from others in the UFC is his ability to deliver a decisive finish,” Jouban acknowledged. “Whenever you see Alex Pereira headlining an event, you can be sure that spectators will be leaving with smiles on their faces after witnessing a knockout.”
While Pereira’s future matchups are uncertain at this point, with many considering Magomed Ankalaev as the leading contender in the light heavyweight division, Pereira recently stated that Ankalaev will not be his next opponent for a shot at the title.
We will keep you updated on Pereira’s upcoming fights as more information becomes available.
