Los Angeles Dodgers two-way superstar Shohei Ohtani produced one of the best single-game postseason performances of all time in Friday’s Game 4 win over the Milwaukee Brewers, leaving his team and fans alike in awe.

Ohtani had a special night at the plate and on the mound, hitting three home runs and striking out 10 batters through six shutout innings. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts wasted no time in showering Ohtani with praise following his performance.

“That was probably the greatest postseason performance of all time,” Roberts said. “There’s been a lot of postseason games. And there’s a reason why he’s the greatest player on the planet.

“What he did on the mound, what he did at the bat, he created a lot of memories for a lot of people. So for us to have a game-clinching — to do it in a game-clinching game at home, wins the NLCS MVP, pretty special. I’m just happy to be able to go along for the ride.”

Ohtani hit his first home run to lead off the first inning, and went deep for a second time in the bottom of the fourth inning. His second home run was his longest of the season at 469 feet, and cleared the right field pavilion.

“That’s the farthest ball I’ve ever seen hit,” Muncy said. “I’ve seen a lot of games here at Dodger Stadium and that’s not even close. It’s the farthest ball I’ve ever seen hit.

“It’s kind of funny. There wasn’t one person in the dugout that didn’t think he was going to hit a home run. He hits the second one and we’re all talking, ‘Is this the single greatest game anyone has ever played?’ Everyone at the same time just said, ‘You know he’s going to hit another one.’”

And hit another one he did, leaving the yard for the third time in the bottom of the seventh inning. This was Ohtani’s sixth multi-homer game of the season, and his first with three home runs in 2025.

Ohtani struggled at the plate in the postseason prior to Friday’s matchup, and the Dodgers will be glad he looks to be his usual self as they head into the World Series. Their opponent has still not yet been decided, as the Seattle Mariners and Toronto Blue Jays still have games to play in the ALCS. Regardless of their opponent, the World Series will begin Friday, Oct. 24.
