Los Angeles Dodgers third baseman Max Muncy, who’s been snakebitten by the injury bug all season long, was forced to exit Friday’s game after getting hit by a pitch on the right hand/wrist.

Muncy was hit in the top of the eighth inning. He remained in the game to run the bases but was then replaced in the bottom half of the inning by Miguel Rojas.

Muncy has had to deal with multiple injuries this year. He missed a month of the season after Chicago White Sox outfielder Michael A. Taylor slid into his knee on a fluke play at third base.
He then returned from the knee injury ahead of schedule before injuring his oblique during pregame cage work, and was forced to miss another month.
Muncy recently returned from the oblique injury, and has continued to be the apparent driving force in the Dodgers lineup. Thus, the team will hope there was no significant injury, and Muncy is able to return sooner rather than later.

Roberts said after the game that Muncy got hit on the forearm and came out of the game because he didn’t feel he’d be able to comfortably make the throw across the diamond from third base.
Muncy’s X-rays came back negative, and Roberts said he’s expected to be back in the lineup on Saturday.
