The Los Angeles Dodgers kicked off their offseason of retooling a twice over championship-tested roster by inking a minor league deal with a catcher. LA saw first-hand last season how quickly catching depth can dwindle, and likely made the first move to address this for 2026.
In other news, utility star Tommy Edman is planning on having ankle surgery, according to general manager Brandon Gomes. Edman had a great start to 2025 after becoming one of the biggest success stories of 2024, but ankle complications hampered his production all season long.
Finally, World Series hero and veteran utility man Miguel Rojas sent a message to the front office about what 2026 may hold. He is currently a free agent — along with other core pieces of the championship squad — and spoke on what the front office should do to best position themselves for a three-peat.
