The Los Angeles Dodgers have taken a commanding 2-0 lead in the National League Championship Series over the Milwaukee Brewers, but according to All-Star third baseman Max Muncy, the best is yet to come.
Muncy was asked after Tuesday’s 5-1 victory if his team has another level to reach, and what else can be done to advance to the World Series.

“I mean, offensively, there’s still some opportunities that we can take advantage of. We haven’t fully done that,” Muncy said.
“It’s really hard to say the pitching can step up any more than what they’ve been doing. But I know from our standpoint offensively there are still some moments that we can take advantage of. And so, yeah, I still think there’s another gear in there.”
The Dodgers certainly have had elite performances from their starting pitchers, especially in the NLCS.

Blake Snell opened up the series with a one-hitter, striking out 10 and walking no batters over eight innings. Yoshinobu Yamamoto secured Game 2 with a 111-pitch complete game, the only run surrendered coming from a solo home run on the very first pitch of his outing.
The Dodgers have only lost once this postseason, and are still showing immense strength at the plate. Among the remaining postseason teams, LA has the most hits, and is tied with the Toronto Blue Jays for the most home runs and RBIs this October.
“At the end of the day we’re winning games,” Muncy said. “That’s the most important part. Doesn’t matter how you do it, you find away to come out with the W, and that’s what we’ve done.”
A major reason that would indicate the Dodgers have more to give on offense is three-time MVP Shohei Ohtani. He has been hitting just .147 this postseason, but has the second-most RBIs on the team with six.
If Ohtani can get back on track and the rest of the lineup continues to get runs on the board, that next gear Muncy believes is there might just be reached.
