The Los Angeles Dodgers recently brought a familiar face in at the trade deadline to fortify a bullpen in need.

Right-hander Brock Stewart last played in a Dodgers uniform in 2019, but now that he is back at Chavez Ravine, he had a chance to see all the new additions added to the clubhouse this past offseason.

“This clubhouse is brand new. The amenities we have here are shocking — just the amount of resources at our disposal, it’s really cool to see,” Stewart said. “Nobody’s going to have any excuse for not being rested or not feeling good because the stuff we have here is more than (anywhere I’ve been).”

Stewart had an ERA of 2.38 with the Minnesota Twins this season before making his way back to the Dodgers. The right-hander didn’t see the same success during his last Dodgers tenure as he hopes to flip the script this time around.

From his MLB debut in 2016 until the end of the 2018 season, Stewart put up a 4.84 ERA across 80 innings. He hurled 68 strikeouts during this time to 40 walks, totaling an ERA+ of just 84, 16 percent lower than the league average.

After allowing eight earned runs in three appearances in 2019, Stewart was let go from the Dodgers and made his way to the Toronto Blue Jays for another 10 outings that totalled an ERA of 8.31.

After bouncing around to an independent league in 2020, Stewart would return to the Dodgers on a minor league deal ahead of the 2021 season, but injuries prevented him from logging any innings in MLB or MiLB.

Stewart signed a minor league deal with the Minnesota Twins in the middle of the 2022 campaign and would return to a big league mound in 2023, tossing a remarkable 0.65 ERA across 28 appearances.

Shoulder complications in 2024 would limit him to just 16 MLB outings, but Stewart appears to be healthy and ready to contribute to what hopes to be another deep October run for the Dodgers.
