With spring training imminent, third baseman Alex Bregman has signed a three-year, $120 million contract with the Boston Red Sox. With Bregman headed to Boston, only Jose Altuve is left of the corps of players who made seven-consecutive American League Championship Series appearances in Houston. Bregman is a necessary defensive upgrade at the hot corner over Rafael Devers, who is an elite bat but has a defensive runs saved of -62 in his career at third base compared to Bregman’s +27. This is a competitive move for a team that is hoping to return to the postseason for the first time since 2021.Â
Which brings us to today’s quiz.
