The Dodgers officially announced their latest piece of offseason bargaining Tuesday, revealing their signing of infielder Andy Ibañez to a one-year deal.
While Ibañez is a solid major-league addition to a roster which had depth issues in the infield during the dog days of 2025, the Dodgers still have some work to do before the beginning of next season, primarily in the outfield.
Michael Conforto manned left field for the majority of 2025, and had an extremely underwhelming season in Dodger blue. He posted career lows almost all the way across the board, and he played defense well below par.
With the offseason soon to close, the Dodgers could look at one of several options for the remainder of the year.
The Obvious Choices
All-Stars Kyle Tucker and Cody Bellinger are the clear frontrunners for the Dodgers’ open spot in the outfield if they want to remain at the top of the pack, and the Dodgers could very well make a move for either before the end of the offseason.
Bellinger spent the first six seasons of his MLB career with the Dodgers, winning the Rookie of the Year award, MVP award and World Series during his time in LA.
He has had three fantastic seasons since leaving Los Angeles, and could land a massive deal before the end of the offseason.
Tucker is a more interesting case, as his market towards the beginning of the offseason projected him to have a long-term contract somewhere in the neighborhood of $400 million.
Now, though, reports have arisen of both the New York Mets and Los Angeles Dodgers offering the All-Star a short-term deal with a high AAV, and The Athletic’s Will Sammon reports he could sign as soon as this week.

Trade Options
The Dodgers don’t have to patch the hole in free agency, though, and could look to trade for their third outfielder.
A clear candidate for the spot is Cleveland Guardians left fielder Steven Kwan, who the Dodgers were interested in at last season’s trade deadline. Kwan has an elite hit tool and rarely ever strikes out, and also plays Gold Glove-level defense in the outfield.
A less talked about option, though, is Boston Red Sox outfielder Wilyer Abreu.
The Red Sox have something of a logjam in the outfield, with four players who more than warrant a starting spot. Abreu and former All-Star MVP Jarren Duran seem to be the odd men out, and the Dodgers could very well move for the former if they want to get younger — a must if they want to continue dominating MLB.

Internal Options
While snagging a top outfielder to further stack the Dodgers’ lineup is an exciting option, the Dodgers have formed their dynasty on smart business and could wait to make a move until they’re sure they’ve found their guy.
If that happens to be the case, the Dodgers could look at internal options — of which they have money. Ryan Ward currently holds a spot on the 40-man roster after dominating Triple-A in 2025, and Tommy Edman could very well return to the outfield if his recovery from ankle surgery goes well enough.
The Dodgers managed to win the 2025 World Series without a huge star in left field, and could very well do so again for their three-peat in 2026.
