RAIN is a one-day bicycle ride across Indiana, covering a 160-mile route primarily along the Historic National Road (US 40). This road is lightly trafficked, older, and has gentle rolling hills. The ride begins at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College (SMWC) in West Terre Haute, Indiana, and ends at Earlham College in Richmond, Indiana. Participants are advised to train thoroughly, spend minimal time off the bike, and maintain an average speed of at least 14 mph for 12 hours.
All participants must register for RAIN. Early registration ensures that your purchased merchandise will be available on the event day, and that rest stops are well-stocked and staffed. Registration fees are non-refundable and non-transferable, so plan accordingly. The entry fee includes a RAIN rider t-shirt, a rider flag with your number, five rest stops (one with lunch), food at the finish, and a finish line souvenir. Additionally, all participants must wear a bike helmet.
