Worlds 2025 will return to China, and Riot has finally revealed the host cities for the international championship.

On July 25, 2025, League of Legends developer Riot Games confirmed that the World Championships for LoL esports will take place in three major cities across China. The event will start in Beijing, then move to Shanghai, and finally end in Chengdu. This marks the third Worlds in China since the start of the prestigious event in 2011. Riot also confirmed that ticket sales will be distributed through League of Legends’ official esports website at a later date.

Riot reveals three host cities for Worlds 2025

The host cities for Worlds 2025 will be Beijing, Shanghai, and Chengdu.

Beijing will house the play-ins and Swiss stage of the tournament from October 15 to October 25, 2025. This will be the second time the city has hosted Worlds after being the sole host city for Worlds 2017. However, there will be a change of venue. This year’s game will take place in Beijing Smart Esports Center, a venue specifically designed for competitive gaming.

After the Swiss portion, the tournament will move to Shanghai for yet another reunion during the knockout stage. Worlds 2020 took place entirely in Shanghai, where Kim “Canyon” Geon-bu earned his first MVP with DAMWON Gaming. This portion will take place from October 28 to November 2, making it the shortest period of the event. Teams will play live on-stage at Mercedes-Benz Arena.

Finally, the finals will take place in Chengdu at Dong’an Lake Sports Park Multifunctional Gymnasium. The finale will take place on November 9 and end with a new Worlds champion. The massive arena can seat up to 18,000 spectators at maximum capacity, setting a practical limit on ticket sales. Chengdu is the only brand-new host city for Worlds 2025.

Riot Games has not revealed details on ticket sales. The developer has asked fans to keep an eye out on the official LoL Esports website for a future announcement. However, anyone planning to attend should get their travel arrangements figured out as soon as possible.
