Bill Haney’s Uncertainty
Haney and his father, Bill, have not confirmed whether they will seek a rematch with Ryan. When questioned about this in an interview, Bill Haney avoided directly addressing the possibility of a rematch with Ryan.
Bill Haney’s evasion of the question was reminiscent of a tense interrogation. He appeared nervous and avoided eye contact when pressed about a potential rematch.
It is likely that the Haney’s will opt for a rematch with Ryan due to the significant financial incentive it presents, as they are unlikely to secure a comparable payout against any other opponent besides Terence Crawford.
Garcia (24-1, 20 KOs) is currently suspended until the first quarter of the next year following a positive test for the banned substance Ostarine in their previous fight.
Bill Haney was vocal about Ryan’s positive test and weigh-in issues, but the outcome of the fight indicated that Ryan would have prevailed even without these issues. Haney struggled to counter Ryan’s left hook and was knocked down three times during the fight.

“I have greatly impacted him. It’s amusing that Bill Haney continues to peddle the same narrative, insinuating that I cheated, when it’s clear that his son would not have lost if I had not taken Ostarine, which I did not,” Ryan added.
