Satou Sabally reveals Breanna Stewart’s recruiting pitch for her to join sister Nyara Sabally on Liberty

Satou Sabally is one of the top names in the 2025 WNBA free agency. The veteran forward announced on Jan. 9 that she had played her final game for the Dallas Wings, sparking plenty of rumors and prompting other starts to start recruiting ahead of the 2025 campaign.

During the first night of Unrivaled, Sabally was again subjected to tactics to try to lure her from Dallas to a different destination. Per Kendra Andrews of ESPN, Sabally revealed that players were extra nice with her and even said Breanna Stewart straight forward recruited her to the New York Liberty, where her sister Nyara plays.

“Satou Sabally, who announced she has played her last game in Dallas, said multiple players have bought her cups of coffee, and Breanna Stewart told her she would look good in New York seafoam,” Andrews wrote.

Ever since she announced she was leaving the Wings, Satou Sabally’s WNBA future has become a recurrent topic among fans. She’s been linked with the Indiana Fever, Chicago Sky and Las Vegas Aces, but now the defending champions New York Liberty could enter this race and surprise the rest of the league.

Sabally will make her Unrivaled debut today when her squad takes on Laces. These two are the only teams that didn’t play on Friday, therefore the expectation to see them should be high.

The competition to acquire Sabally’s services appears to be getting hotter by the day, but it will go down to her and the Wings to decide which teams will be next in her career. After being cored by the Texan franchise, Sabally can’t negotiate with another WNBA team but can request a trade.

In that case, the opponent’s offers will play a key role in where the Wings ship the former No. 2 overall pick.

Satou Sabally hyped up Breanna Stewart over “dreams” post

Breanna Stewart and Satou Sabally appear to be getting closer as they share time during the Unrivaled season. On Thursday, the three-time WNBA champion took to Instagram to share a message about how much it meant to her seeing her league being so close to its start. Stewart called it a dream come true.

Sabally was one of many who commented, adding a two-word message.

“Let’s gooo!!” she commented underneath the post.

It seems like these two are developing a good relationship, which could be dangerous to other teams.
